Relax – Colombia Single Origin Decaf Coffee

Located in a biological Conservation Corridor, Valle del Cauca lies between the National Park of Tatama and “Serranía de los Paraguas”. Some years ago, this region was identified by International Conservation as one of the two main conservation corridors in Colombia. Farmers in this region are keenly aware of the importance of the preservation of natural resources, water management and friendly environmental practices.

This coffee is a mix of Caturra and Castillo varietals. 100% Colombian. It was produced at 5,750 ft above the sea level. It is decaffeinated.

This coffee was decaffeinated in Colombia using ethyl acetate – an organic compound derived from sugar cane – to remove 97% of the caffeine from coffee beans. The process tends to leave a pleasantly sugary flavor.

In this coffee, you will find first of all a chocolatey, nutty and spiced cup of coffee.

Due to the microclimate conditions, like most of the Colombian coffees, this coffee developed a bright acidity, but because of the decaffeination process, it has also a very pleasantly sugary flavor, which helps to balance the cup and makes it very enjoyable.  This coffee will be perfect at any time of the day, even before going to sleep.
